Many Facebook marketing and advertising products have been hitting the shelves lately as, according to Alexa traffic ranking, Facebook became the #2 most visited site on the entire Internet.
Numbers that Alexa doesn’t show is that Facebook has a tremendous amount of user activity and very high page views that blow Google out of the water.
As FB was climbing up the traffic ladder it was becoming more and more of threat to Google, and Google has reacted by launching a few social platforms of their own.
It wasn’t until FB opened the doors to advertising did it really become a powerhouse in the marketing and advertising field.
FB also has another quality that it leads Google in, app development. There are thousands of companies making apps everyday for Facebook users and there is a goldmine to be made there also, along with another way to reach potential customers and interact with them.
The real sweet-spot for Facebook is that they give advertisers a different type of reach that Google doesn’t provide, the ability to target your exact ideal demographic that you are trying to reach.
This is not necessarily better than Google, who allows you to reach your market when they are searching for your product, but a great option non-the-less.
Together they make for a powerful marketing strategy.
As when Google hit the scene overtaking MSN & Yahoo!, there were a lot of courses teaching people how to use Google for marketing, now it’s happening for Facebook.
